Major Even Realities G2 smart glasses update adds Conversate ‘Pro Mode,’ Knowledge Base

Even Realities today announced that a new software version will be rolling out to the G2 smart glasses, complete with a personal knowledge base that, thankfully, only remembers what you tell it. When the G2 smart glasses launched, Even Realities packed them with features aimed at professionals, as well as tech geeks who appreciate retro mixing with the modern. But features like Conversate can be valuable to anyone in the right situation. Even Realities says Conversate is getting an overhauled “Pro Mode” that pulls data from something it’s calling Knowledge Base – a feature that remembers the information and data you select. These feature refreshes are included in the Even Realities G2 version 2.4.0 update, which also upgrades the company’s AI interface to Even AI 2.0. In order, it works like this: Files and audio recorded in Conversate mode on the Even Realities G2 glasses, along with any manually uploaded files, sync to a secure Google Cloud Platform server in the EU. Knowledge Base updates your information to disseminate. Even AI 2.0 and active Conversate sessions pull context from the Knowledge Base. Even Realities allows users to select up to 10 Conversate records to upload to that context tree during the initial setup. More can be added as they’re recorded. It also seems that new Conversate sessions need to be selected for upload and won’t be added to that database automatically, unless the user toggles automated uploads on. Whatever data is there, Conversate Pro Mode will surface during relevant sessions. For instance, if you’re a sports journalist and have a backlog of recorded meetings in Conversate, new instances will provide context based on what you already know. It’s a more trustworthy approach than letting an AI model surface information it thinks is relevant. Even AI won’t stop doing that, but the Knowledge Base might be a more palatable source for some. The biggest part of this update comes down to Even AI 2.0. Even Realities says it’s a “major upgrade” to how users interact with the G2 glasses as a whole. In reality, it comes down to quality-of-life changes that should make the smart glasses easier to use. The G2 glasses are now able to activate Even AI with the touch sensor. When you hold it down, the recording starts, but stops when you release. And instead of requiring a new wake word for a follow-up, users can enable multi-turn conversations. Opening Even Hubs apps and changing certain settings right from the AI chat are supported, too. Even Realities says Knowledge Base and Conversate Pro Mode will both launch today in beta. Because it’s still an early feature, it will be limited for users based on a monthly usage allowance. There’s no mention of pricing after beta in Even Realities’ press release. Oh, and there’s a new tortoiseshell color option. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.
