After waist-cinching shapewear and sleek bodysuits, the British retailer has now created the 'hip boost' bodysuit, with side inserts for extra padding, for customers who want 'subtle enhancements'. The bodysuit is designed to be worn with your own bra, and features pockets on each side for hip pads - similar to chicken fillets to boost cleavage - to give the appearance of an hourglass figure. Although GLP-1 drugs like Mounjaro and Wegovy have soared in popularity over the past years, there are also some unexpected side effects of the rapid weight loss - including what is now known as 'Ozempic butt'. When M&S launched its £15 'bum boosting' shorts, some fat jab users said the pants - fitted with two removable convex pads that sit atop the wearer's buttocks - gave them their 'shape back'. Following the release of the derriere-enhancing bodysuit, celebrity stylist Lisa Talbot said: 'The beauty of styling is that you can use clothes and shapewear to create the proportions and silhouette that make you feel confident.'An hourglass shape can be created through clever styling, but it shouldn't be seen as the "ideal" body shape,' she continued. 'If a bodysuit gives someone a little extra confidence in an outfit, fantastic. But it should be a styling choice, not another reminder that our bodies aren't good enough as they are. 'We've had requests from both UK and international customers,' Ms Jenkinson, who called the pants the 'BBS' – bum-boosting shorts, added. 'We're going out more, and it's making us think about lingerie solutions to help us get dressed up again. Our underwear offering reflects not just changes in fashion and lifestyle but also in body shape.' The 'hip boost' suit is part of M&S's new BODY range, unveiled in April with a 300-piece collection of seamless, 'invisible' and sculpting underwear that many say rivals Skims founded by Kim Kardashian. This is because the collection was launched with several comparable pieces - except they were a fraction of the cost of Kardashian's designer knickers. Where a Skims bra typically costs £62, M&S's version costs £18. A Skims seamless thong, meanwhile, will set you back a hefty £20. At £14 for a pack of three, by comparison, M&S's version is going for a thong.Last year, Skims unveiled £116 shorts designed to add 'two inches of volume' to the wearer's behind before M&S released its £15 'bum boosting' shapewear. It comes after M&S gave men's briefs a serious upgrade with its Autograph Body Invisibles earlier this year. M&S, where around 20 per cent of men in the UK shop for undergarments, said the new range was designed to remedy showing seams in its menswear department. The collection, which includes briefs, cycling-short style 'trunks' and vests, promises discreet 'wardrobe maintenance', the British high street retailer said. The clothing combines 'lightweight fabric with bonded seam technology for a smooth, second skin fit that sits invisibly under clothes', a spokesperson for M&S added. A two-pack of vests is priced at £30, while trunks and briefs will chime through the tills at £28 for a three-pack.The brand said of its latest innovation in men's fashion: 'In an era of smarter basics and harder-working essentials, the first layer is finally getting the attention it deserves - because great style doesn’t start with the jacket, it starts underneath.'The modern man has upgraded the wardrobe, upgraded the grooming, and now it’s time to upgrade the underwear.'
