This prestigious Award of Excellence was given to Lystek and GSD at the CASA Annual Conference on August 6, 2026 in Napa, California.This award recognizes Lystek’s and the District’s combined efforts in the innovative application of the Lystek THP® technology to hydrolyze thickened waste activated sludge as enhanced feedstock for the District’s mesophilic anaerobic digesters, a process known as LysteMize®. This project demonstrates LysteMize capabilities to generate additional biogas and substantially reduce residual solids when compared to baseline mesophilic digestion. This project, which was first implemented in 2019, moves the GSD towards its goal of energy independence and sustainability.
