Love Island’s Maya Jama accused of ‘cutting off’ star after awkward girlfriend blunder during live final

LOVE Island host Maya Jama has been accused of ‘cutting off’ a star during their exit interview after already making a very awkward blunder. Fans of the ITV2 dating show tuned in last night to see the host crown the winners of the programme – which ultimately went to Julia and Lorenzo. She was seen chatting to 5th place stars Samraj and Mica about their time in the programme and questioned them on their “love” for one another. Sign up for the Love Island newsletter Thank you! They admitted they were in love and confessed to saying “I heart you” to one another by means of showing their affection. But as Maya tripped up and accidentally called Mica Samraj’s girlfriend, he was left open-mouthed. The couple came in 5th place on the show Credit: ITV Maya then moved the chat swiftly on Maya quickly corrected herself to say he had left with “a love” as Samraj said: “Last time I spoke to you…” The crowd began to cheer at the thought of the pair being together as Maya nervously laughed along after her blunder. Mica then said: “It is very much going to be like that soon.” Maya added: “What is the hold up? I am not going to pressure you into saying anything soon…” Most read in TV As the crowd continued to laugh, Samraj soon butted in again to add: “Maya last time I told you I was in love, this time I’ve got something to say to you [to Mica].” As he spoke, he turned his body to face his partner with a great big smile on his face. However as he talk a pause, Maya filled in the silence as she carried on with the show – awkwardly cutting the star off. She quickly went on to introduce the next couple which lead to some comments that she had interrupted Samraj’s bid to ask Mica to be his partner. After the moment, one viewer added: “Not Samraj trying to ask Mice out and Maya interrupting it.” Another also said of the chat: “So they’re in love but not in a relationshsip?
