Going back to last year have been patches for booting the mainline Linux kernel on Pixel 10 devices while finally those Google Pixel 10 Device Trees and Tensor G5 SoC support is set to be mainlined for Linux 7.4. Sent out today was the pull request for the SoC tree for introducing "ARCH_GOOGLE" and introducing the Tensor G5 SoC family and the initial Device Tree files for the Google Pixel 10 (Frankel / Blazer / Mustang) devices. The pull request elaborated: "Introduce new ARCH_GOOGLE for the Google Tensor G5 (Laguna) family of SoCs. The very early designs - Google GS101 - were derivatives of Samsung SoC, thus they were grouped under Samsung SoC. The G5 however went its own way, so no commonality with Samsung and a new ARCH_GOOGLE symbol. Currently upstreamed SoC is used for example in Google Pixel 10 phones. Add basic support of three of their variants (Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL)." The Google Tensor G5 features one Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A725 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores. For graphics there is the Imagination PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU. The G5 supports LPDDR5X memory and sports a 4th Gen TPU. So for those interested in the Google Tensor G5 and the Pixel 10 / Pixel 10 Pro / Pixel 10 Pro XL abilities to run on a mainline kernel, look forward to the upcoming Linux 7.4 cylce.
