The Oasis frontman is known for his unfiltered approach on X, leaving fans in hysterics and often shocked over his swear-filled tweets. On Sunday, the 53-year-old’s social media post sparked a huge reaction online after Manchester City’s controversial derby-day win. Liam – whose brother Noel was in the crowd to watch the game live – appeared to take issue with Gary in particular following the full-time whistle. Writing on X, Liam called Gary – who had been commentating throughout the game and provided match reaction afterwards – a ‘s*** c***’. Continuing, he wrote: ‘But he knew that anyway,’ before going on to call the ref a ‘s*** c***’ and Manchester United. Reacting to his post, which has so far received 37,000 likes, one user called Katie joked: ‘Hard to tell, but I don’t think Liam enjoyed the game.’ Another user called JC also replied: ‘I’m getting the feeling Liam’s not a fan of Man Utd.’ Darryl, meanwhile, wrote: ‘No need to mince your words Liam. Say what you mean.’ This comes after Gary and Liam’s brother traded digs in 2024 over the fact that Noel is a City fan who lives in London. Responding to a clip where Noel taunted Gary about the success of Manchester City over the past decade, the 51-year-old former England player told the BBC: ‘He’s been a big part of Manchester’s history but he lives in London. ‘Do you know what I mean, Noel? Don’t talk about Manchester… you live in London. ‘You live in Knightsbridge, or wherever it is. Hampstead, wherever he lives, you know what I mean. You can’t start talking about Manchester. Liam’s brother, Noel, has previously traded digs with Gary in the past (Picture: WireImage) ’25 years he’s not been here. He comes once a year for that trophy parade!’ Last week, Oasis teased their 2027 tour announcement with a drone show above the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. During the event, the drones formed the Oasis logo before spelling out ‘4PM BST’, and then the date ‘14.09.26’. According to The Sun, Oasis will play 23 UK gigs starting in May next year, and they’re going to kick off things off with five nights at Glasgow’s Celtic Park. Sadly, the new tour means that the rumours that Oasis are one of the headline acts at Glastonbury 2027 are likely false, as the dates would clash with the Etihad gigs.
