With Ocarina of Time's remake just around the corner, many are understandably wondering what is next for its sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The critically acclaimed N64 game is widely considered to be one of the best in the series, and many even prefer it over its predecessor, owing to its more mature narrative and penchant for surreal visuals and quirky characters. Naturally, this has led to an outpouring of desire for the iconic sequel to get a remake of its own, something many have speculated is already in the works. However, while we await the long-teased remake of Majora's Mask, fans can indulge themselves in a little treat. Nintendo has officially released a free download for fans of Majora's Mask, which is available right now. There's no catch, no secret requirement threshold that needs to be met, just a genuinely fun bonus freebie that fans can enjoy while thinking about all the ways Nintendo will enhance Majora's Mask were it to get a remake too. With Nintendo making statements about the future of Zelda and fans eagerly anticipating the next mainline title, it's understandable that both newcomers introduced via the genre-defining Breath of the Wild and long-term fans are itching for something new and exciting to rejuvenate their unwavering interest. Naturally, a full-blown release would help tremendously with this, and the Ocarina of Time remake seems perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between the Wilds era and whatever comes next. However, in the interim, between upcoming Legend of Zelda remasters and the aforementioned remake, fans can access the freebie Nintendo has finally given away. This freebie is the entire Majora's Mask soundtrack, which has been uploaded to Nintendo Music in its entirety. That means all 111 original tracks are listenable via the official Nintendo Music app, many of which have been split into numerous thematic playlists. Of course, if you want to listen to the entire soundtrack from start to finish, you can, with it taking you 1 hour and 55 minutes in total. The soundtrack that has been added is the original Nintendo 64 one. While the 3DS version didn't incorporate new or remastered tracks, it did feature some minor audio improvements to better work on the 3DS' smaller speakers, which are absent in the tracks uploaded to Nintendo Music. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask soundtrack joins a wealth of other great Nintendo scores, including both versions of Ocarina of Time and the brand-new title theme from its upcoming remake. Of course, while these soundtracks are available at no added cost via Nintendo Music, you do need an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to log into the app. Technically, this means you'll need to pay the subscription fee, something that isn't worth doing exclusively for Nintendo Music. Naturally, the membership comes with a plethora of other benefits, which may make it worthwhile for some. For those who opt not to purchase a subscription, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask's phenomenal soundtrack can, at least for the time being, be found on YouTube.
