The viral fragrance brand, founded by Mona Kattan, is beloved by beauty obsessives for its House of Yum collection featuring its Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 and Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81. However, Metro can exclusively reveal the House of Yum is expanding into bodycare for the first time, with the launch of a Silk Soufflé Body Cream and a Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm in both the marshmallow and pistachio scents. Kayali Silk Soufflé Body Cream This rich, luxury body cream comes in Pistachio Gelato and Boujee Marshmallow to match the Eau de Parfums in the Yum collection. (Picture: Metro/Kayali) Promising up to 24 hours of hydration in a whipped, weightless texture, the body creams are an indulgent addition to keeping your skin silky soft and sweetly scented. Then there are the Cashmere Kiss Lip Balms, designed as a throughout-the-day top-up for a delicious hydration boost. Speaking to Metro about the new collection, Kattan decided it was time to expand the Yum collection to help its fans mix and match scents to their mood and provide new ways to enjoy Kayali’s world beyond the Eau de Parfums, designed as ‘something they could reach for on their skin, keep in their bag and come back to throughout the day.’ Creating the new products was a labour of love, she explained. Keep your lips smooth and supple with this hydrating balm. It’s a handbag essential. (Picture: Metro/Kayali) ‘We took our time getting the products right, and there was a lot of work behind the scenes refining the formulas, testing different versions and gathering feedback; I needed the formulas to feel amazing.’ Layering scents is something Kattan is a personal fan of, but she’s aware her customers are just as invested in creating something completely personal through bodycare, whether worn alone or with the matching scent to amplify it. Kattan has also long been a lover of the gourmand fragrance trend, especially for their ability to ‘transport you somewhere instantly – they can make you feel cosy, nostalgic, sexy, carefree depending on how you layer them.’ If you want to go all in with a sweet marshmallow mix, Kattan recommends layering the Silk Soufflé Body Cream with the co-ordinating Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 Eau de Parfum. ‘But if I want something different, I’ll use that same gourmand base and layer another fragrance over it.’ High shine and hydrated lips? Yes please. (Picture: Metro/Kayali) Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. Her goal for the new range of products is to be treated as an act of self-love: ‘You don’t need a special occasion to make yourself smell delicious or to enjoy a beautiful body cream or lip product. You can create that feeling for yourself every single day.’ Her advice for adding the 81 Silk Soufflé Body Cream to your post-shower routine is to take your time massaging it in for super-soft skin, and thanks to the whipped texture, there’s no heavy or greasy feeling to contend with. With the Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm, apply it as often as you need throughout the day for a high-shine, skin-softening layer of moisture. For Kattan, both the new body creams and lip balms have the quality she always looks for in a gourmand fragrance – ‘You smell it once and immediately want to smell it again and again.’ So scent-sational perfume isn’t required. (Picture: Metro/Kayali) If you’re already a Kayali super fan, or simply love smelling sweet, the newest additions are now available to shop at Sephora, Cult Beauty, and Space NK. Don’t hang about though, we suspect they’ll be viral hits before long. Are the new Kayali products worth it? A beauty editor puts them to the test I’m a big fan of bodycare in general – I moisturise daily, sometimes twice, love using different creams, balms, lotions, sprays, you name it, from budget busy that are less than a fiver to the ultra luxurious tubs costing near £100, so this new launch was right up my street. Here’s my verdict: Kayali Silk Soufflé Body Cream This is every bit as luxurious as you would expect. The texture sits between a thick cream and a whipped mousse, feels expensive, and delivers a big fragrance payoff. It absorbs admittedly quicker than expected, despite the thick texture, so if your skin plays well with fragrance, it’s also a very pleasant option for treating dry skin types. There’s no subtlety here: Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 Eau de Parfum is very sweet, heady, and delivers a cloud of strawberry, pink marshmallow, coconut, and vanilla that lasts an impressively long time. If you prefer slightly saltier, biscuity notes, the Pistachio Gelato | 33 is your best bet. It has the same scent of pistachio, hazelnut, jasmine, geranium, sandalwood and tonka, but is softer than the fragrance, without being overpowering. However, both body creams are so strongly scented, you could wear them on their own without spritzing the Eau de Parfums at all. Buy soon for £48 Kayali Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm The lip balms are my favourite because you can use them as often as you like and take them out of your handbag. They have a doughnut applicator which keeps it feeling plush as you swipe across your lips, and the scents aren’t nearly as overpowering as I thought they might be. The marshmallow scent is my pick of the two, and has a very slight pink tint that doesn’t stain but makes my lips look extra plump and glossy, while still soothing dry, chapped skin – mine are particularly dehydrated from sleeping in front of a fan all through the heatwave. buy soon for £23 It’s already become an everyday item of mine.
