Actor Anandhi Ajay, who reportedly had a role in Jana Nayagan, said her scenes were removed from Vijay's film after nearly a year-long association. She also said she may never get another chance to work with Vijay, as Jana Nayagan is widely expected to be his final film before he moves into politics full time.The video drew a strong response on social media, with many users posting messages of support in the comments section. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 41 crore nett in India on its opening day across 13,067 shows, taking its India gross to Rs 48.27 crore. Overseas, it collected around Rs 30 crore, pushing its worldwide gross to Rs 78.27 crore. The Tamil version contributed the bulk of the collections with Rs 36.5 crore, while the Telugu version brought in Rs 2.75 crore and the Hindi version added Rs 1.75 crore. Despite the strong opening, the film fell short of the first-day collections of Vijay's previous blockbusters. Beast had opened at Rs 49.3 crore, while The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) had collected Rs 44 crore on day one.Directed by H Vinoth and backed by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
