Logo text James Bond fans are likely to be shaken by an auction set to honor the beloved franchise. Propstore’s online Bond auction features 400 lots spanning every film in the long-running series and highlighting the franchise’s evolution, from 1962’s Dr. No through 2021’s No Time to Die. The James Bond Online Auction is now available for worldwide bids, which can be placed through the auction link, and it runs through Oct. 27. The auction’s highlights include Daniel Craig‘s Tom Ford suit, shirt and cufflinks from 2012’s Skyfall, expected to sell for as much as $53,000. Also hitting the block are Ana de Armas‘ Paloma dress and sandals from No Time to Die, with the outfit also likely to go for around $53,000. One lucky bidder will end up with a set of 14 first-edition books by Bond author Ian Fleming, with the collection from publishing firm Jonathan Cape expected to sell for upwards of $50,000. A linen-backed British quad poster for Dr. No is valued at as much as $22,000, while a clapperboard from 1983’s Octopussy could be headed for a sale above $10,000. Daniel Craig in Skyfall. Courtesy of Everett Collection “James Bond has a unique place in popular culture, and interest remains strong to this day,” Propstore director of consignments Alastair McCrea tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Bond has been part of cinema for over 60 years, with each generation having its own Bond, its own favorite film and memorable moments. One person grew up with Sean Connery, another with Pierce Brosnan, another with Daniel Craig, so you can still have three generations of the same family debating over who the best 007 is. That’s what makes collecting Bond so appealing; there’s something for everyone, whether it’s the films, the actors, the gadgets, posters, costumes or the original artwork. Very few film franchises can claim that, and it’s a big part of why the collecting market remains so strong.” A British quad from Dr. No. Courtesy of Propstore The Bond auction follows Propstore’s previous online auction that featured more than 300 items from director Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner 2049. That auction concluded last week, with such highlights as the signature coat worn by Ryan Gosling, which sold for $201,600, including the buyer’s premium. This new Bond-focused auction takes place as anticipation builds amid the ongoing casting process for the star of the next 007 movie that Villeneuve is set to direct. “The news about a new movie on the horizon always piques renewed interest, and I expect that to grow over the forthcoming years,” adds McCrea. “The links to other brands have also kept the interest high, from Aston Martin to Omega, and they all add to the exposure. The Daniel Craig era saw the biggest price rise in collectables, and this can be seen across the areas of posters, scripts, books and costumes.” A clapperboard from Octopussy. Courtesy of Propstore
