What wasn’t shown off during Dual Fusion’s big reveal was the game’s first Special Pack and which new cards the additional expansion will add to the game. Pokemon TCG Pocket Special Pack: First Partners The theme of Pocket’s debut Special Pack is First Partners, with every single starter Pokemon from across the series' nine regions represented, so presumably 27 cards to collect in total. Six of the cards have been shown so far, and they’re all identical to the designs released as part of the real-life Pokemon TCG’s First Partners collection earlier this year. The first six cards revealed include the starter Pokemon from Kanto and Johto: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. The other 21 cards weren’t a part of the Special Pack reveal, but they will presumably be identical to their real-life equivalent cards based on the six we’ve been shown so far. You're Only Getting One Special Pack Per Week Pokemon You might think 27 cards will be easy to collect, as the Special Pack collection is comparatively pretty small compared to other sets, even the single booster pack ones. They’re going to function a little differently from Pocket’s regular booster packs, though. They will require a new type of stamina, Special Pack Stamina, and unlike regular stamina that refreshes every 12 hours, your Special Pack Stamina will take an entire week to rejuvenate. It also seems that there might be more cards than just the 27 partner Pokemon to collect in the First Partners special pack. Each of the packs is guaranteed to include at least one one-star card, so presumably one of the 27 First Partners in each pack. However, that implies that there will be cards with lower rarities in there too. Perhaps other new cards featuring those 27 partner Pokemon, or maybe the Special Pack will be used as a new way to help players fill gaps in their collections after the current Deluxe pack leaves the game next week. When the latest Deluxe booster pack leaves, it will be replaced by the Dual Fusion expansion, launching on October 29, 2026. The Special Pack: First Partners booster will join that expansion two days later on October 31, and will remain available until December 26, 2026. There are also Pika Pika! Pikachu packs available starting right now, rewarded to players for completing Pocket’s new Pikachu-themed missions. Systems Released October 30, 2024 Developer(s) DeNA, Creatures Inc.
