Readers and fans of George R.R. Martin's source material understand just how important Sunfyre is in the larger story, and his death would dramatically diverge the future narrative from the established canon. Dragons in Dragonfire range from original, game-specific creatures to familiar ones from the show, and each one fills a different strategic role, encouraging players to experiment with different team setups. Sunfyre joins the game as a powerful Legendary dragon built around punishing Fire-based enemies. His kit specializes in countering Fire damage while growing stronger over longer battles, making him an excellent choice for longer-term and endgame-focused strategies. His scaling damage, defensive utility, and synergy with other dragons, particularly the newly released Tairax, give players another great option for PvP. While Sunfyre's inclusion in Dragonfire shouldn't be taken as confirmation of his fate in House of the Dragon, it's nevertheless a welcome sight for longtime fans. The game draws from the wider lore surrounding House Targaryen rather than following the HBO series directly, which means beloved dragons are featured regardless of whether the show kills them off or not.
