Hollyoaks confirms major Lucas twist as Leah is stunned to silence

The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm. Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) wasted little time in dropping jaws upon his return to the eponymous village, letting sister Leah Barnes (Charlotte Alex Riley) in on a mammoth secret he’s been keeping. The popular character was last seen in March after he was sent to prison for taking dad Ste (Kieron Richardson) hostage. Ste, as viewers will recall, had been having an affair with his son’s one true love Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and when the truth came out Lucas was utterly devastated. With danger lurking behind bars in the form of Sully (Harry French), Lucas contemplated going on the run with Dillon, who decided to leave the village for a fresh start elsewhere. However, Lucas ultimately reconsidered his departure, resolving instead to stay put and serve the rest of his sentence. Martin, as viewers know, is the man who confessed to being responsible for the death of Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey), with his daughter having been trafficked by Rex’s gang. But Martin is now dead and Xander is on a hunt for answers. Lucas, meanwhile, stopped by the garage where Rex was murdered and reminisced over a heart-to-heart he’d shared with the mechanic. With tears in his eyes he departed the garage and bumped into Leah, with the siblings sharing a warm embrace. The brother and sister duo were soon at odds, however, as they argued over not being there for Ste in his hour of need. And the heated showdown soon led to a revelation, with Lucas stating that he is responsible for what happened to Rex. The question is: just what does he mean? Did he kill his stepdad? Or is there more to it than that? Next week, Lucas and Leah spend the night talking – and they’re woken to learn of Ste’s disappearance. Later, Lucas returns to the Lomax household, where he’s haunted by the events that transpired between him and his dad and thus has a panic attack, with Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) coming to his aid.
