Sign in to your TheGamer account Rockstar Games co-founder and president Sam Houser has withdrawn from an exclusive Grand Theft Auto 6 interview due to “personal reasons”. If there’s one thing we all know about Rockstar Games, it’s that the developer is incredibly private and prefers to work in the shadows as much as possible. Nowhere has that been clearer than with GTA 6, as the studio has kept communication to a minimum and only just started taking part in interviews over the past few months. As refreshing as it’s been to hear from some of the people making the biggest game in the world, there’s one key figure that a lot of GTA fans want to hear from the most - current Rockstar president Sam Houser. That was actually planned to happen up until very recently, as it’s been confirmed that an exclusive interview has been cancelled. Sam Houser Has Withdrawn From A GQ Interview About GTA 6 It Looks Like Rob Nelson Is The Main Speaker For Rockstar Image provided by Rockstar Games and Spotify. Now that GTA 6 coverage is in full swing, there are a few big outlets that everyone has expected to be involved somehow. Game Informer was one of them and turned out to have a big preview that released earlier this week, but the other is GQ, which has previously shared very detailed interviews with Rockstar ahead of its big launches. Over on Twitter, GQ writer Sam White confirmed that was indeed going to be the plan for GTA 6, up until very recently. White confirmed that, after “four years of talks” with Rockstar to set up an exclusive interview with Sam Houser that was confirmed to be happening back in April, the studio president has sadly withdrawn due to “personal reasons”. It’s not clear why Houser has cancelled the interview since “personal reasons” can really mean anything, but it’s not too much of a surprise, all things considered. While Dan Houser has been a lot more chatty as of late, Sam has always been much more private. As fascinating as it would have been to hear from such an important Rockstar figure, it looks like it’s not happening any time soon.
