But, at some point, that may not be enough for everyone. In fact, fans are growing increasingly irritated by Grand Theft Auto 6’s sparse marketing. For some fans, Grand Theft Auto 6 having the gall to launch preorders without having revealed significant gameplay, paywall seemingly substantial in-game content, and rob fans of a disc has soured them to it. This is all before fans have even received Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 3, and fans are now predicting when we might see it and other paramount pieces of marketing. On X, fans have begun assessing the timelines of previous Rockstar releases and marketing campaigns in order to predict what we could hopefully expect from Grand Theft Auto 6 between now and the game’s launch this fall. For instance, user GTA 6 Countdown suspects that we might see Trailer 3 in August, the first gameplay reveal in September, the reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6’s online component in October, and the PC launch in fall 2027. ReplyHunt3r pushes back: “This timeline looks overly optimistic, given Rockstar’s history of repeatedly pushing back release dates. [...] I’d bet on fewer big drops and another slip to 2027.” Meanwhile, user xXWilderGamerXx isn’t nearly as optimistic about communication, writing, “OR, hear me out, complete and utter SILENCE until November 19th.” Mainly, fans have been itching for a third trailer that will actually show them more of the story or gameplay, hoping that Trailer 3 is a dedicated showcase of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay, or at least preceded by one. Due to how little has been officially shared by Rockstar beyond two cinematic trailers and preorder marketing for Grand Theft Auto 6’s Standard and Ultimate editions, it’s become increasingly difficult to suspect that new marketing materials will start steadily dropping every month until launch. It’s possible that a Grand Theft Auto 6 Collector’s Edition could be announced in the near future, even though it wouldn’t contain a disc (a trend that started long before Grand Theft Auto 6 revealed it wouldn’t have one in general), but it probably would have done so when its other editions were announced. Either way, less speculation about Grand Theft Auto 6 will be necessary the closer we get to November. There are many Grand Theft Auto 6 questions left unanswered, and such answers will be here sooner or later. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
