The franchise did a phenomenal job with its layered approach to characters like Daenerys Targaryen, the Lannisters, Sansa Stark, and many others. Those players were given the necessary space to grow and change throughout the show, with audiences following along as characters became better versions of themselves, completely different people, or were reduced to a shell of who they once were. Even in Game of Thrones season 8, the HBO fantasy series' controversial final season, the character work remained mostly top-notch. Additionally, by conquering six of Westeros' Seven Kingdoms, establishing King's Landing as the capital, and creating the Iron Throne, Aegon the Conqueror defined what Westeros was meant to be. Who Could Play Aegon The Conqueror In Game Of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest? Given that Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest will be the franchise's first movie, it is hard to imagine the studio not going for major stars for Aegon and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. To that end, former Superman star Henry Cavill has long been a popular fancast for the role of Aegon the Conqueror. He has an existing relationship with Warner through his time as Superman and has shown in Netflix's The Witcher that he has the necessary skills to make Aegon work on the big screen, given the similar gritty fantasy theme of the projects. However, the fact that Aegon was in his mid-to-late 20s during the Conquest seems to rule out Cavill, unless the first Game of Thrones movie changes the character's age. If Cavill does not end up playing the character in Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest, then Aegon would likely still be played by a major star that takes on the role of Game of Thrones' main character.
