The Florida State baseball team landed another piece for the future on Friday, as former Liberty and Texas middle infielder Callum Early committed to the Seminoles. Early didn’t play much for the Longhorns this past season — he only appeared in 11 games, seeing five at-bats — but he was a regular in the starting lineup for Liberty in 2025. Though he was just a freshman, he started 28 games and played in five others. Early, a Virginia native who is listed at 6-foot and 190 pounds, batted .295 with six doubles, two home runs and 15 RBIs during his one season at Liberty. On3’s Pete Nakos reported last week that Florida State was battling South Carolina and West Virginia for the second baseman. He is the fifth position player transfer for the Seminoles for the upcoming season, joining FAMU slugger Jackson McKenzie, JUCO star catcher Coy Clements, Indiana shortstop Cooper Malamazian and former Northwestern first baseman Nick Barron. Early is the younger brother of Boston Red Sox pitcher Connelly Early. Warchant.com provides just what passionate FSU fans expect: Market-leading coverage of Seminole athletics and recruiting.
