COPS have made four more arrests after a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a stabbing in the toilets of a Taco Bell. Two teenage boys who were previously arrested have been released on bail, while a further four teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article. Restrictions under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act have been extended in Rochdale town centre until 3pm tomorrow, September 1, 2026. Detective Superintendent Richard Hunt said: “We continue to make progress on the investigation into this serious attack on a teenage boy in Rochdale. “Violence on our streets will not be tolerated, and I want to reassure members of the public that we are relentlessly pursuing every lead to bring those responsible to justice. “We urge anyone who witnessed the incident, was in the town centre at the time, or has any mobile phone, CCTV, or dashcam footage, to come forward and speak to us.” One man, who was with his wife and children, told Manchester Evening News how a group of “around 20 to 25 youths ran in, some with knives”. David Lane claimed: “That’s when the lad got stabbed. “I grabbed a load of napkins and put pressure on the wound. It looked like he lost a lot of blood. It was a hectic scene.” Mr Lane said the incident was “horrific” and that his children “shouldn’t have to see that”. “If it wasn’t for my actions, I think he would have died,” he added.
