Ukrainian forces struck a Russian military airfield, electronic warfare and radar stations, drone facilities, command posts and supply depots in a wide-ranging operation on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and overnight into Wednesday, Oct. 7, Ukraine’s General Staff said. President Volodymyr Zelensky separately announced that Ukrainian forces had hit two Russian oil facilities, a military training ground and an unspecified target in the Black Sea. Russian airfield and radar stations hit The General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck the Seshcha airfield in Russia’s Bryansk region. The full extent of the damage was still being assessed. A Russian electronic warfare station was hit near Hrynove in the same region, while a radar station was targeted near Elionka. The General Staff did not specify which Ukrainian units or weapons were involved in the attacks. Russian authorities had not provided independently verifiable information about damage at the airfield or the two military stations at the time of publication. Drone facilities and command posts targeted In the occupied city of Donetsk, Ukrainian forces struck a location used by Russian troops to store, prepare and launch attack drones. Drone command posts were also targeted near Bilotserkivka and Kamianka in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian forces hit a Russian command-and-observation post near Hirnyk, Donetsk region, as well as two additional command-and-observation positions near the occupied settlements of Ukrainsk and Kurakhivka. A previous series of strikes hit a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system, a drone hub near Donetsk and an electronic warfare station in the Bryansk region. Fuel and supply depots struck in Luhansk Ukrainian forces also attacked two logistics facilities in the occupied part of the Luhansk region. A warehouse storing material and technical supplies for Russian troops was hit near Krynychne, while a fuel and lubricant depot was targeted near Kondriuche. “The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to strike the enemy’s military facilities,” the General Staff said. The military did not provide information about casualties or the scale of the damage at the two depots. Zelensky announces four additional strikes Zelensky said Ukrainian forces struck four targets over the past day that helped Russia finance and conduct its war. “Our warriors have struck four targets that help Russia finance and wage its brutal war,” Zelensky wrote. According to the president, the strikes hit two oil facilities and a military training ground across Russia’s Perm, Samara and Astrakhan regions. He did not identify the facilities or specify which target was located in each region. “There is also a response in the Black Sea,” Zelensky added, without identifying the fourth target or providing details about the operation. “Fair Ukrainian responses to all Russian strikes against our people,” he said. Ukraine has repeatedly announced operations against Russian military and energy infrastructure, arguing that oil revenues help finance Moscow’s invasion. On Oct. 1, Ukrainian forces hit another unspecified target in the Black Sea, alongside a Russian drone launch facility in the Oryol region, an oil site in Samara and a military supply depot in Bryansk. Neither the General Staff nor Zelensky said whether the latest Black Sea operation targeted a vessel, an offshore installation or another type of military asset.
