Everybody, it's Kannada not Kannad: Yash corrects interviewer, wins praise

Actor-producer Yash received applause from fans after making a small but significant correction during an interview as part of the Toxic promotion. He humbly pointed out to the host that his mother tongue should be pronounced “Kannada”, and not “Kannad”, as many do. The moment has now gone viral on social media.Yash is currently on a promotional spree for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, and has been travelling across the country for the film's promotions.Speaking on India TV's Aap Ki Adalat, when the host referred to Kannada as “Kannad” in one of his questions, Yash took a moment to correct the mistake and convey a message to the audience. He said, “Sir, I have one request. It is Kannada (not Kannad). Everybody, it is not Kannad, but Kannada. Please understand the emotion behind it.”The moment, which was edited out of the full interview, was later uploaded on Instagram by the makers and has since gone viral, with Yash's fans commending him for his reaction. One fan wrote in the comments section of the video, “That one-word correction made Karnataka smile. Before becoming a nationwide name with the KGF series, Yash had already worked his way to the top of the Kannada film industry, delivering several successful films over a career spanning more than a decade before KGF changed the trajectory of his career. Yash appeared on Aap Ki Adalat to promote his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups, which is set to release on August 26. During the interview, Yash spoke about his personal journey, including his initial days of struggle and eventual success.
