The victim’s body was discovered in Purok 6 and was recovered through a joint operation by personnel of the Candijay Emergency Rescue Unit, the Philippine National Police, and the Candijay Community Hospital. According to the Candijay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, an initial assessment indicated that the victim had been dead for about 12 hours before his body was recovered. The incident came after the area experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday night, although authorities have not yet established whether the weather contributed to the victim’s death.
