FromSoftware makes notoriously difficult video games. Therefore, in conclusion, Elden Ring is a difficult video game. This is something many of us have found out by now, with the masterpiece having been released over four and a half years ago. However, good games never die, and with Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition now releasing on the Nintendo Switch 2, a whole new audience is experiencing the game. It also means a whole new audience is experiencing the trials and tribulations that come with it. One of these, which many of us are all too familiar with, is the Teleporter Trap in the Dragon Burnt Ruins, something that new players are encountering for the first time, with hilarious consequences. The Teleporter Trap In Elden Ring's Dragon Burnt Ruins Is Kicking Switch 2 Players' Butts Elden Ring is FromSoftware's first big open-world game. The way the map is laid out, however, means players are likely to gravitate towards the Dragon Burnt Ruins pretty early on in their adventures. It's a grand introduction to the game's mechanics, enemies, and structure, but it has one little caveat — a Teleporter Trap that will transport you into the far more dangerous Sellia Crystal Tunnel. It's a trap that's easy to fall into, simply by opening a treasure chest, but one that leads you to an area you are likely to be way, way under-leveled for. This is something Nintendo Switch 2 players are finding out the hard way. In a new post on Reddit, first-time player Gustdog shared their experience of the teleporter trap. "Just bought Elden Ring, opened a random chest and was teleported to an area that is way too powerful for me with no way out," the title reads. "I knew this game was hard, but holy s**t. Also does anyone know any kind of way to get out?" Their post was met with a combination of advice, consisting of the words "RUN", laughter, and trauma from players who ended up in the same situation over the last four years. One commenter called it a "Canon event", to which Gustdog responded, "So this just happens in the game? If that’s the case, I don’t know what the f**k I have gotten myself into." They continued to share their story, eventually emerging from the tunnel and into the horrors of Caelid. "Holy s**t, I’m outside… where the f**k am I?" was their response. The Caelid memes rolled in. They did eventually make it back to Limgrave. The whole situation has reminded me of how good Elden Ring is, and I think if there was a single game I could wipe from my memory and play again, it'd be this one.
