DVAC conducts searches at premises linked to former DMK Minister Senthilbalaji in Karur

One of the premises in Karur where DVAC officials are carrying out searches on Wednesday | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) carried out searches at several locations linked to former DMK Minister V. Senthilbalaji in Karur.The ancestral home of Mr. Senthilbalaji at Rameswarapatti, the house of his personal assistant at Moorthypalayam, and the residence of a DMK union secretary at Koyampalli were among the six premises that were searched. The office of the TASMAC District Manager was also searched.The DVAC officials, drawn from different parts of the State, began simultaneous searches at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. They questioned Mr. Senthilbalaji’s father Velusamy at Rameswarapatti. No outsiders were allowed to enter the premises where the DVAC officials were conducting the searches. Police personnel were posted outside these locations.The searches were said to be linked to alleged malpractices in the sales and supply of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor at TASMAC outlets during the previous DMK regime.
