Just a few months ago, the already massive Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero somehow got even bigger with the excellent Super Limit Breaking Neo expansion. Considering how many new characters, maps, customisation options, and modes were added in the DLC, it was fair to see it as a swansong of sorts. As it turns out, though, Sparking Zero isn’t anywhere close to being finished. Yesterday, another lengthy DLC and update roadmap was shared to celebrate the game's second anniversary, revealing that even more content is planned for release over the next year. The highlight of those plans was the promise of a new playable character, but it sounds like that was a bit of an undersell. Bandai Namco Confirms Sparking Zero Will Get Multiple New Fighters Gohan Black Or We Riot After the new Sparking Zero roadmap was shared, fans were quick to point out its mention of a “playable character” as paid DLC. Although Shallot previously proved that fighters don’t have to come as part of a bigger pack, it still seemed strange for just one new character to be mentioned on such an expansive roadmap. As pointed out by Twitter user SLOplays, a post about Sparking Zero’s future on Bandai Namco’s official website has seemingly confirmed that the DLC will actually add more than a single fighter. Towards the end of the post, Bandai notes that “new paid DLC featuring playable characters” are planned for the future. Unless it’s a mistake on Bandai’s part, that plural suggests that Sparking Zero’s future DLC will add a few new fighters to the already stacked roster. With so many characters already in the game, it’s anyone’s guess who might be in the works, but there are some fan-favourite Budokai Tenkaichi 3 picks who come to mind. Outside of the new fighters, the roadmap also promises a new Tower of Power mode for later this year, as well as a crossplay beta test in 2027. While those aren’t as groundbreaking as what was added in Super Limit Breaking Neo, it does make it very clear that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero isn’t going away anytime soon. Dragon Ball: Sparking!
