Court restrains defamatory coverage on Yash's Toxic ahead of worldwide release

The 36th CCH (City Civil Hall) Court in Bengaluru has restrained the publication and broadcast of false and defamatory news against actor Yash's upcoming bilingual gangster film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The order was passed a day ahead of the film’s worldwide release.KVN Productions had approached the Sessions Court seeking protection against the publication of false and damaging content about the film. After hearing the petition, the court issued an order restraining such publication and broadcast.Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is set for a worldwide release on August 26, 2026. Apart from Yash, the film also features actors Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Nayanthara in key roles.The Geetu Mohandas directorial depicts a toxic father-son relationship. Yash plays dual role of father and son as Raya and Rumi aka Ticket. In the trailer for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, amid disturbing glimpses of heartbreak, rage and greed, we also get to witness a hint about the possible clash between the father and son's ideologies. The video ends with Yash, Raya and Ticket battling each other with bare hands. The film's ensemble cast also features Akshay Oberoi and Rukmini Vasanth.The film has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages — underscoring its global ambition. The principal photography took place from August 2024 to October 2025 across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Thoothukudi and Jaipur.The film assembles a stellar technical crew, featuring National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. Its action is helmed by Hollywood’s JJ Perry of John Wick fame, along with top Indian stunt experts Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is co-produced by Venkat K.
