Contaminated baby bottle cleaner is pulled from UK supermarket shelves as it could contain INSECTS

A POPULAR baby bottle cleaner has been recalled after insects were found in the liquid. The product has been pulled from UK supermarket shelves, with the insect contamination posing a health risk. Milton claims that insect contamination in the product is harmless to babies, but the Office for Product Safety and Standards warns that it presents a “risk to health” on its website. In a statement, Milton told customers: “The safety of babies and the trust of parents are our highest priorities so we want to be open with you about a recent issue with Milton Baby Bottle Cleaner and what we have done about it. “We identified the presence of insects in a small number of UK Milton Baby Bottle Cleaner bottles. “As soon as we became aware we removed the affected products from sale and began a full investigation. “This included conducting laboratory microbiological testing according to ISO Standards– which confirmed there is no risk to babies’ health or safety.” To see if a particularly bottle is affected, customers should check the batch codes and expiry dates against the details below, as no other batches are affected by this recall. Shoppers who bought the baby bottle cleaner from Waitrose will be able to return the affected product to their nearest store to receive a full refund.
