X/@ncbn | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement A class X student, Murram Shivani, reportedly killed herself at her residence in Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district on Sunday (July 26, 2026) night, a day after her 15th birthday.The girl belonging to the Konda Dora tribe took the extreme step on Sunday (July 26, 2026) night, allegedly unable to cope with distress owing to disturbances in her family.On July 24, Ms. Shivani moderated the Mega Parents-Teachers Meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. She is believed to have taken the extreme step on Sunday night. The probe is on and no clue emerged to ascertain the exact reason that drove her to end her life.”The police are also investigating the one-page note found in the girl’s house, purportedly written by her.Family disputesRampachodavaram MLA Miriyala Sirisha Devi, who consoled the girl’s family, told The Hindu: “The girl has reportedly been suffering from disturbances in her family. Her parents have been staying separately for some years.”The girl’s father, Vara Prasad, lives in Gokavaram, where she reportedly celebrated her birthday on Sunday (July 26), and her mother, Sowbaghyavathi, lives in Rampachodavaram.Aspirational girlOn hearing about the death of Ms. Shivani, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu wrote on X: “The words Ms. Shivani shared with me that day (July 24) about her studies and higher aspirations are coming back to me.”Reacting to her death, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said: “Even if problems and difficulties arise, students and youth must stand firm with courage. I urge that no one should succumb to pressure, despair, or hopelessness.
