Chelsea player ratings vs Juventus: Geovany Quenda makes immediate impact on debut

Chelsea lost for the second game running under Xabi Alonso as Juventus ran out 1-0 winners at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.Edon Zhegrova’s wonderful curling effort in the 68th minute was enough to settle the game in Juve’s favour as the Blues failed to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Tottenham in Sydney.Here’s how Standard Sport rated the Chelsea players in defeat...Produced a good save to deny Jeremie Boga but was also guilty of flapping at a cross that nearly allowed Juventus to score.Another promising performance from the Italian, who linked up well with Geovany Quenda. Capable of going inside and out, his pace caused real problems. Nearly caught out when he lost possession near the halfway line.Did not have much to do defensively but struggled when tasked with passing the ball out from the back.Stepping in for Levi Colwill, he was less shaky than he has been in previous games but does not instil confidence and should not be a regular starter for Chelsea come the start of the season.Made an excellent block on the follow-up after Sanchez had saved from Boga. Still does not look entirely sure of himself at left-back.Given the captain’s armband on his first appearance of pre-season, it was a typically combative display from Caicedo as he snapped into tackles and held the ball well under pressure.Assured performance from the 16-year-old, who looked confident in possession.
