Charity gets the worst news about Dr Todd in Emmerdale

It was devastating for her (Picture: ITV) Last Friday in Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) took a brave step by attending a support group in the aftermath of her sexual assault. She returned home and told Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) where she had been. Sadly, the positive news was somewhat overshadowed due to a phone call from DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale). Reid told Charity that she’d be visiting to share some news about the case against Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker). Having experienced police protocol before, Charity sensed that DS Reid was visiting with bad news. When she arrived, Reid was quick to reveal the update. Due to lack of evidence, the CPS are dropping the case about Todd. It was an absolutely gutting development. Charity and Mackenzie both pointed out that Dr Todd relentlessly bullied Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) when they worked together, but Reid explained that this was a work matter, not a police one. With Caitlin not facing consequences for her actions through the court, Charity’s fight for justice had suddenly vanished. Deflated, she headed upstairs, leaving Mackenzie to rant to Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). Mack seemed certain that they could find other evidence to prove who Dr Todd really is. He pointed out to Vanessa that Caitlin’s past efforts to get Jacob to drop the complaint he made against her suggests that she’s targeted people at the hospital before. Charity’s determination to get justice suddenly vanished (Picture: ITV) Vanessa and Mack work together to try and help Charity (Picture: ITV) Soon enough, Vanessa puts a new plan in motion, and she heads to the hospital with Jacob to meet HR rep Carol. When Charity gets wind of what Vanessa and Jacob are up to, she heads to confront them. On her way though, Charity comes face to face with a woman called Helen, who is another one of Dr Todd’s victims. Helen doesn’t want to talk, but it’s clear something is on her mind when Charity quietly tells her that she was sexually assaulted by Caitlin. Will Helen open up?
