WORLD CUP hero Vozinha will don a shirt bearing an unfamiliar name at new club Colo-Colo. The Cape Verde goalkeeper, 40, became an overnight star with a string of heroic performances at this summer‘s tournament. Chilean Primera Division regulations ban the use of nicknames on shirts. Any player using one would receive an automatic yellow card and land their club a fine. Players are instead forced to use one or both of their surnames, plus an initial if they prefer. Vozinha’s birth name is Josimar Jose Evora Dias – a completely unknown title for the millions who got to know him at the World Cup. So unless the rules are relaxed he will begin the season with ‘Evora’, ‘Dias’ or ‘Evora Dias’ on his Colo-Colo jersey. The only way he can use his alias is if Colo-Colo chief Anibal Mosa gets unanimous approval on a rule change from the league’s Council of Presidents.
