It has been reported that Bluepoint pitched a Bloodborne remake, but FromSoftware shut it down, and that Sony is respecting director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s wishes to be involved in anything related to the game going forward. But at the same time, he has publicly expressed that he is not opposed to a PC port, musing that he’ll “get in trouble” if he says he wants one. It’s hard to gauge what exactly is going on behind-the-scenes to prevent one of PlayStation’s most critically acclaimed darlings of last-gen from getting the TLC it needs. Maybe we just don’t have enough insight yet, eh? Whatever the case, even Shuhei Yoshida, the former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, is confused. "I Hope It Will Come Out" As translated by GamesRadar+, Yoshida described himself at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference as a “huge” Bloodborne fan when asking where the PS5 and PC ports are. “This game has a lot of fans all over the world, and it still doesn’t have a PS5 version,” he said. “PlayStation’s first-party team is releasing a ton of remasters, so why don’t they release this one? There’s no PC release. I am often asked why these haven’t been released, but it’s a complete mystery. Maybe they’ll come out in the future. Maybe they won’t. Maybe they’ll make a special edition. Maybe they won’t. As a huge fan, I hope it will come out.” Unfortunately, the official PC port dreams are probably dead. PlayStation quietly confirmed earlier this year that it would no longer launch its flagship single-player titles on Steam after disappointing sales, reportedly canceling a Ghost of Yotei port. But a current-gen update with 60fps and 4K resolution support wouldn’t be a huge leap, and modders have already shown that the PS5 is more than capable of doing so with just a few tweaks. It’s not like Sony has completely abandoned Bloodborne, either, with an animated movie now in the works, even attaching Seán ‘Jacksepticeye’ McLoughlin as a producer. So, where’s the remaster? That’s the big question that has tormented fans — Yoshida included — for years.
