Bhumi Pednekar urges support for flood-hit Assam, singer Nilotpal Bora thanks her

Actor Bhumi Pednekar has stepped forward to support relief efforts in flood-hit Assam, urging people to come together for those affected by the devastating disaster. Highlighting the scale of the crisis, Pednekar noted that entire villages have been submerged, thousands have been displaced, and several lives have been lost.In her heartfelt appeal, the 37-year-old actor said, "There have been a lot of bad floods in Assam. The situation is so bad that 7.5 lakh people have been evacuated. More than 40 people have died, and the death toll is increasing. Entire villages have been washed away, and animals have been washed away. Whatever they had, everything is finished."She urged people to come together and support the relief efforts, recalling how the country united to help flood-affected regions in Punjab last year and expressing hope that Assam would receive the same solidarity.Pednekar went on to highlight the immediate needs of those affected, saying, "Assam needs a lot of supplies. Singer Nilotpal Bora acknowledged the efforts of Pednekar and other celebrities who have come forward to assist. Bora also urged the actor to promote NGOs working on the ground.About Assam floodsThe flood situation in Assam showed signs of improvement on Sunday, but the crisis remains far from over, with more than 5.24 lakh people still affected across five districts, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).The ASDMA reported that over 5,24,700 people continue to be impacted in Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Sivasagar districts. This marks an improvement from Saturday, when nearly 6.55 lakh people were affected across six districts.However, the death toll continued to rise.
