Another seller is offering two tickets at £208.70 for a 70mm screening of the film at 8.15am in the morning. Until Tuesday, September 10, screenings of The Odyssey at the BFI IMAX are completely sold out, with fans demanding more showings of the five-star- rated blockbuster. Through the BFI website, tickets to see the movie cost £26 each, only a fraction of the price of the resale tickets. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, and more, took a sizeable £198million internationally on its opening weekend. The epic Greek tale tells Homer’s story about Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, and his ten-year journey home after the Trojan War. Since its release, fans have been battling to secure tickets to see the film on a 70mm giant IMAX screen. Most read in Showbiz Only 41 screens in the world offer screenings of the film on a 1:43:1 aspect ratio, including the highly sought after BFI IMAX in Waterloo. The British Film Institute (BFI), however, have warned film fanatics about the massively inflated resale prices. Richard Pickard, a spokesperson for BFI IMAX and Southbank, told The Sun: “It is against our terms and conditions to sell any BFI tickets for more than a 20% increase on face value. “We are aware that some tickets available on resale sites are in violation of these terms and when reported, we investigate these listings and take appropriate action. “Upon discovery, tickets may be subject to cancellation.” The spokesperson also confirmed that BFI IMAX will be scheduling more screenings of The Odyssey in the upcoming weeks.
