Apple posts record June quarter in India, Cook hails market's strong growth

NEW DELHI: Apple delivered a record June quarter in India, with CEO Tim Cook highlighting the country as one of the company's strongest-performing markets worldwide.Speaking during Apple's quarterly earnings call, Cook said the company achieved June-quarter revenue records across all geographic segments, including India, the United States, mainland China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Western Europe. Apple also reported double-digit growth across most emerging markets. India stood out as one of Apple's best-performing markets for Mac computers during the quarter. Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh said the Mac business generated a record global revenue of $10.4 billion, up 29 per cent year-on-year, driven by strong demand for the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro.Parekh noted that India recorded robust double-digit growth in Mac sales and ranked among the company's top markets for both first-time Mac buyers and customers upgrading from older devices, making it the country's strongest-ever quarter for the Mac lineup.The results underscore India's growing strategic importance to Apple, both as a key manufacturing hub and as one of its fastest-growing consumer markets, where the company continues to strengthen its premium product ecosystem.According to Counterpoint Research, Apple's strong performance in India was fuelled by healthy adoption of the MacBook Neo and sustained demand for the iPhone 17 series, despite ongoing supply constraints. The research firm expects Apple to register single-digit volume growth but double-digit value growth in India during the 2026 calendar year.
