Aaron Harrison spills the tea on La Familia’s roster issues: ‘Sucka (****)’

Why did La Familia get blasted by The Ville at Freedom Hall? Well, it’s not easy playing with what amounts to six healthy pieces, thanks to an extended list of roster absences — including two late scratches the day of the game alone. At one point or another, this team was supposed to have Kerr Kriisa, Reid Travis, Quade Green, Archie Goodwin and Marcus Lee in uniform. None of them were in the building when the Kentucky alums lost 82-62 in enemy territory. We knew about the others, but Goodwin and Lee were both supposed to be available on Monday, only to be ruled out on the day of. At that point, the writing was on the wall. Andrew Harrison did his best to lead the way with a team-high 19 points for La Familia. Meanwhile, his twin brother, Aaron — who has an excused absence, thanks to the birth of his sweet new daughter last week — was speaking his mind on social media about the players who failed to show up for their teammates. The rumor on the street is that he’s specifically referring to Archie Goodwin, who claims he missed a flight and couldn’t get to Kentucky in time. That’s not how Aaron saw things unfold, however. “I don’t see how you can say you will show up and be committed ….then don’t show at all the week of????” Harrison wrote on Twitter. “We could’ve gotten different players that wanted to play and not play with ppl time. Sucka 💩— Aaron Harrison (@AaronICE2) July 21, 2026 Jon Hood gave a more politically correct version of the story at the podium following the loss, saying La Familia GM Twany Beckham is not to blame for the team’s personnel issues. He did his job assembling the roster. The players did not do theirs by honoring their commitments. “I let Twany do GM roles. I got brought in to just be the coach, and I’m still working a full-time job while doing this,” he said. “Twany Beckham does this for 11 months out of the year. He will start as soon as this thing ends. I have seen the texts, I have seen him on the phone, I have heard everything. At some point, everybody’s got to realize this ain’t on Twany. “We’re trying to get guys in here. We know we’re undermanned. If guys allow us to announce them and allow Twany to announce them, and then they back out, that’s nothing that we can control. I don’t know who all’s gonna be here. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the eight that are in that locker room right now. We’ve been together for a week. I’ll roll with them, regardless of what happens. “I’ll roll with that eight and take my chances.” The sideline reporter on the TBT broadcast shared that Twany Beckham has “six players on standby” for Wednesday in Lexington — but the question is whether they’ll actually show up. Hood’s comments suggest those in that locker room aren’t expecting any major changes in 48 hours.
