A very unlikely Emmerdale resident gets rid of a sinister villain for good

Steve was proving to be a problem (Picture: ITV) Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) has enjoyed seeing his friend Steve (Jason Done) again in Emmerdale, but he has posed a bit of a threat. Kev and Steve used to work together to rob places back in the day. The difference between that version of Kev and the one we now know is that he has worked incredibly hard to be a better person. After discovering that Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) is his son, Kev decided to wave goodbye to the life of crime and attempt to be a father. When Steve arrived in the village, he was shocked to learn that Kev was practically sitting on a goldmine and doing nothing about it. He pushed his mate to help him rob Home Farm, but Kev didn’t want to – as tempting as it was. He very nearly jeopardised all of the progress he had made when his relationship with Lewis was at risk of falling apart. Fortunately, Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) approached Kev and managed to put things right, which meant Steve headed up to Home Farm on his own. Steve has been sleeping at the Anderson household with Kev, Charles (Kevin Mathurin) and Claudette (Flo Wilson). The problem with Steve is that he doesn’t respect the Anderson home as much as Kev, and it was starting to irritate Claudette and Charles in this evening’s episode. Worried about how Steve’s chaos might impact the positive changes Kev has made to his life, Claudette – of all people – decided to take action. Claudette cares a lot about Kev (Picture: ITV) She took a huge risk (Picture: ITV) She presented Steve with a wad of cash and simply told him to leave. Claudette recognised ages ago that Steve is just a past version of Kev, so she knew that the money would be enough to get him to scarper. That evening, as Claudette prepared dinner, Kev wondered where Steve hadgone. It was definitely a massive risk for Claudette to face criminal Steve in this way – could it come back to haunt her?
