The plans are part of his wider initiatives to beautify the capital city.The BBC's Shaimaa Khalil reports from aboard one of the airport's iconic 'people movers', mobile lounges that transport passengers from the terminal to the tarmac, which have been used since the airport opened in 1962. The plan would replace the decades-old mobile lounges with an expanded train system and new concourses.Travellers told the BBC that modernisation is needed, but noted the 'people movers' are a little nostalgic.
