18 Delhi Metro stations to remain closed today amid heightened security

DMRC has closed 18 metro stations across central Delhi from Saturday morning amid tighter security around student protests near Jantar Mantar. (Photo: PTI)The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that 18 metro stations across central Delhi will remain closed from 7:30 am on Saturday until further instructions due to heightened security arrangements amid the ongoing student protests near Jantar Mantar.According to the DMRC advisory, entry and exit will remain suspended at Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan and New Delhi metro stations. This is the fourth consecutive day of metro restrictions in the national capital.DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and said the temporary closures are being implemented in view of security arrangements.
