The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake is set to launch two weeks from now on November 5, 2026, on the Nintendo Switch 2. Some lucky influencers and reviewers have even gotten a 2-hour play session of the greatest adventure game of all time, the lucky ducks! And while none of us need any more spoilers and just need to experience it for ourselves, one fact about the game could save players a lot of time and heartache. A couple of photos from Genki over on X, reveals information that anyone who has pre-ordered the game online needs to know prior to launch day. The photos depict a physically purchased card with a digital download code for the game on it. Although most of the writing is in Japanese, there is one piece of information that is as clear as the white shine coming off the Master Sword: The game's file size. This is vital information if you need to do some spring-cleaning and free up some space on your Nintendo Switch 2 for launch day. There's nothing worse than a failed download for insufficient space and knowing how much room you need beforehand is essential to avoid delays. The revealed game file size is 27GB, making it one of the largest Zelda games ever. Not insignificant at all. Considering the original N64 version of the game was only 32MB or 0.032GB, this is a huge leap in storage size. That is 864 times the size of the original and certainly might require some players to free up some space on their memory cards. Of course, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes with 256GB of internal storage, so as long as you haven't been filling it up with screenshots of all your wins in Mario Kart World, you should be fine. Of course, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake isn't the largest game to come to the Nintendo Switch 2. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, just the standard edition is over 90GB and the deluxe edition a whopping 99GB. WWE 2K26 clocks in at almost 93GB and Split Fiction is no slouch either, coming in at 73GB. With games like these in your library, it could be very necessary to have a clean out before November 5, 2026. Commentors on X, have mixed reactions to the news of how big the game is. One is in complete shock and commented: Original N64 version, running at 320x240 resolution, is 32 MB. And that was considered big for an N64 game in 1998. This remake is almost 1,000 times as big in sheer MB numbers. While others are speculating that the huge jump in size must mean extra content: Ocarina of Time remake's file size being larger than both BOTW and TOTK makes me feel like Nintendo really added a lot of extra stuff in this remake that hasn't been spoken about. 👀 I'm so excited! 😊 Regardless of whether The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake has new content or sticks faithfully to the original, November 5 can't come quick enough. With Grand Theft Auto 6 coming in the same month, it's time for gamers to clear their schedules, switch off their phones and block out the outside world for a few months. Hyrule needs a hero and Ganondorf won't defeat himself.
