Young Sheldon Character Officially Returning To TBBT Universe 5 Years Later

Published Oct 27, 2026, 3:38 PM EDT Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour. A woman from Georgie Cooper's past is about to re-enter his life this season on Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Georgie's first on-screen appearance came towards the end of The Big Bang Theory's 12-season run. When CBS ordered the prequel Young Sheldon, Montana Jordan was cast as the younger version of the character. Now he's leading his own spinoff, which shows him in charge of his own tire business as well as the ups and downs of his marriage. Georgie's relationship with Mandy might hit a rough patch when ex-girlfriend Jana Boggs stops by. Star Emily Osment took to Instagram to reveal the big casting news that Ava Allan is returning to The Big Bang Theory universe as Jana. She included a photo of herself sitting with Allan while filming a restaurant scene with the two characters. In her caption, Osment said, "Well THIS can’t be good…….@avaallan is hereeee." Allan replied, "Uh oh," in the comments section and shared the post on her Instagram Story with the message, "Secret's out! Guess who's coming back." Emily Osment: "Well THIS can’t be good……. @avaallan is hereeee @georgieandmandycbs Happy Monday!" Ava Allan: "Secret's out! Guess who's coming back." Allan played Jana in almost a dozen episodes of Young Sheldon from seasons 3 through 5. At one point during her arc, Jana thought she was pregnant, but it turned out she wasn't. Her relationship with Georgie eventually ended, and he went on to meet Mandy eight episodes later. Storyline details haven't been revealed yet, so it's not clear at the moment why Jana and Mandy would be hanging out without Georgie in sight, but this will mark her first appearance on Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Before Young Sheldon, Allan had appeared in many different TV shows, including Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, True Jackson VP, The Middle, Pretty Little Liars, Modern Family and Suits, and the movies Yes Day, Love is All You Need and Most Likely to Murder. Jordan and Osment's co-stars on Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage are Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin, Jessie Prez, Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, Matt Letscher and Matt Hobby. The second season ended with Georgie's mother, Mary, being asked out by her son's rival, Fred Fagenbacher. Mary grew furious with Georgie's attempts at trying to prevent her and Fred from going out. When Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3 premiered earlier this month, the Mary and Fred saga continued, with Georgie and Mandy running into them at a restaurant. Meanwhile, the show revealed the fallout from Connor's arrest, with Audrey growing even more protective over her son. The most recent episode saw Mandy and Georgie's daughter, CeeCee, begin preschool, with the adults handling the major life milestone in very different ways. Eventually, Jana will pop back up for as-yet-unknown reasons, as Georgie and Mandy continue to live their young lives together with their daughter and overbearing family members. Considering the show's title refers to the couple's first marriage, there's always the possibility that Jana's reemergence will cause major relationship issues for Georgie and Mandy, but only time will tell if that comes to pass. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
