And while that's certainly true, you don't have to be a DIYer to absolutely love several of Ryobi's most popular products. The company makes a little bit of everything, and there are several you'll probably want to own. I totally understand if you have no desire (or need) to buy an 18V circular saw or a 5-inch random orbital sander, but whether you're a homeowner or a renter, Ryobi still has something for you. If you don't own a single power tool or anything from Ryobi, here's what you need to know. The company makes over 350 products that all run off a single 18V ONE+ battery, meaning once you buy your first battery, you can start collecting a bunch of gear for everyday life that makes things easier. Here are a few essentials I can comfortably recommend. Ryobi 18V Hybrid Whisper Series Fan Everyone can use a good portable fan I'm talking about portable battery-powered inflators for cars and bikes, fans, vacuums, lights for an emergency power outage, camping gear, or even a power inverter that'll keep your phone and watch charged during a blackout. Even if you'll never do a DIY project or remodel a room in your home, everyone can appreciate a good battery-powered fan that's neither too big nor too small. Ryobi's 7.5-inch hybrid fan is one of my favorite models, and I use it year-round. It's the perfect size, and more importantly, the "Hybrid" in the name means you can plug it into the wall with an extension cord, or run it cordless with your Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery pack. I use this fan in my office during the warm summer months, plugged in. When I'm piddling around in the garage, it's usually plugged in, providing airflow, and so much more. Then, because it can also run off a battery pack, I use it when I go camping, take it to the backyard when the little one is playing in the grass, or anywhere that I'd like to stay cool. It's just an all-around solid little product. Ryobi makes a bunch of smaller clamp-on misting fans for strollers, soccer games, and more. Ryobi 18V Hybrid 7.5-inch Fan Ryobi's 7.5-inch Whisper series fan is quiet, powerful, and offers multiple speed modes. Best of all, it's a hybrid tool that runs on a battery pack or an extension cord. A tire inflator for cars and bikes You should always have a way to top off your car's tires Credit: Ryobi I'm one of those types of people who like to always be prepared for anything. You never know when your car tire could get a little low, develop a slow leak, or go flat overnight. The last thing you need when you're rushing to get to work on time is to have no way to air up a tire, or have to find a nearby gas station and a bunch of quarters to use the inflator. Thankfully, Ryobi makes a small, portable, powerful, and affordable high-pressure tire inflator that I think should be in every garage. It's small and unassuming, but it does a better job than you'd expect for under $40. With up to 160 PSI, you can easily air up tires on a car or truck, and the built-in display lets you set a specific PSI so it stops at the perfect time. Use this thing on bikes, motorcycles, toys, footballs, an air mattress while camping, and more. I actually own two: one in my garage and another in my car in case of an emergency. Ryobi 18V ONE+ High-Pressure Tire Inflator Tool Type Tire Inflator Warranty 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty With 160 PSI of pressure from any ONE+ 18V battery, this inflator is fast and capable. Plus, there's an auto-shutoff mode to prevent overinflation of car or bike tires. Have power anywhere and everywhere Backup power is important Credit: Ryobi The cold winter months are quickly approaching, which means inclement weather, power outages, and other situations where backup power is important. Whether you want to be prepared for winter or want on-demand power to recharge phones, tablets, watches, or power lights while you're camping, Ryobi has something for that, too. Once you buy a few of these oddball "tools" from Ryobi, you can use your 18V ONE+ battery pack with its 150W Power Source Inverter. The idea is simple: snap the power source onto the battery, and it'll convert that 4Ah Ryobi cell into 150W of usable power for phones and tablets. The power source has USB-A and USB-C ports, an AC outlet, and even a built-in light. It's a pretty nifty little product you'll love having at home. Use it during a power outage, while camping, on car rides, or anywhere you need portable, on-demand power. Ryobi 18V Power Source and 150W Inverter Plug the Ryobi 18V power source into your power tool battery and use it to charge your phone, laptop, power lights, a mini fridge, and more. Get the Ryobi 18V Hybrid Task Light Light when you need it most Another versatile Ryobi product that you'll want around the house, even if you aren't a DIYer, is this magnetic task light. Everyone has a flashlight or two, but this light is so much better for multiple reasons. For one, it's part of the Hybrid line, so it'll work with your Ryobi battery or a wall outlet. Ryobi makes a ton of lights, but the task light delivers 1,500 lumens of light anywhere, and it has a strong magnetic base and a hanging hook, making it easy to place for illumination. Use this while you're working in the garage, camping, getting all your Christmas decorations and lights out of the attic, or even during a power outage. It has a flexible head to adjust the light pattern, a built-in USB-C port to charge your phone, and it gets super bright. I love mine. Ryobi 18V Hybrid Magnetic Task Light Tool Type Light Warranty 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty The Ryobi Task Light works with an 18V battery or an extension cord, and features a magnetic base, flexible head, USB-C charging for other gadgets, and more, making it a do-it-all lighting solution. You'll love Ryobi's 18V Bucket Top Vacuum Any 5-gallon bucket becomes a shop vac Credit: Ryobi And finally, you don't have to be a DIYer to appreciate a good wet/dry shop vac, whether it's for cleaning up the garage, messy spills in the house, vacuuming out the car, or anything else you wouldn't use your household vacuum for. Thankfully, you don't have to buy a big, bulky, expensive shop vac that'll take up a ton of space in your garage. Ryobi sells an 18V bucket-top vacuum that's only $60. It's small, easy to store, and when you actually need a wet/dry vac, throw it on top of a 5-gallon bucket, click in your 18V battery, and get to cleaning. It's one of those oddball tools I absolutely love. And these are only the beginning Trust me, once you buy a few Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery packs at Home Depot, you'll quickly realize you've purchased a battery that'll be useful in every facet of your life. From repairs around the house, powering a trusty cordless drill, running camping equipment, pool vacuums, fans, lights, glue guns for arts and crafts, Bluetooth speakers, gardening equipment, battery-powered snow shovels, coolers, power washers, and so much more. As you can see, Ryobi makes all sorts of affordable tools for every occasion.
