‘You Can See Everything’ … in Space? A24 Sends Elizabeth Holmes Doc to ISS

The popularity of You Can See Everything has apparently surpassed Earthly measures. Nearly three weeks after the nearly 3-hour documentary about disgraced former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes premiered in theaters domestically, studio A24 is screening it in outer space. The studio said in an A24 Instagram post that it has granted NASA’s request to screen the film for astronauts aboard the International Space Station. A representative for A24 didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. I’d say this was surprising news, yet after I saw the impact the movie had on Halloween, it makes perfect sense. You Can See Everything is a phenomenon. At my daughter’s school, I saw a toddler dressed as Holmes, which certainly was a choice. People all over my social feeds were costumed as the infamous scrambled-egg bowl from the movie (IYKYK). Heck, the friend I saw the movie with took my idea and dressed in all black, wearing old-school headphones and an emo hairstyle, and carried a laptop to channel Nathan Fielder. You Can See Everything, co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, was initially slated for a limited theatrical release in the US. After three weeks, the documentary hit No. 1 at the box office last weekend, beating DC’s Clayface for the top spot. Now, audiences around the world are clamoring to get a taste of the movie. They still have to wait, though. UK moviegoers won’t be able to see it until Nov. 20. It’s coming to France on Dec. 30, and while Sony Pictures acquired the rights to release You Can See Everything in countries like Germany, South Korea and Latin America, no dates have been announced yet. Don’t you dare scramble eggs in front of Billy Evans.A24 That said, those lucky astronauts in low Earth orbit will soon be side-eyeing yellow mixing bowls, questioning every move made by Holmes’s partner, Billy Evans, and simply wanting more Amanda Seyfried in their lives. For a movie that is already super disorienting, one has to assume that removing gravity from the equation will make watching You Can See Everything a next-level viewing experience.
