New Delhi,Oct 30, 2026 11:00 ISTMany women are experiencing PMOS and fertility-related concerns at a younger age, leading some to explore options such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF) to conceive. However, IVF may not be necessary for everyone. In certain cases, lifestyle changes, including a balanced diet, regular exercise and stress management, can help improve overall health. Yoga can also play an important role.Speaking about yoga and women's health at the India Today HealthWealth Summit, Yoga Acharya Ira Trivedi, founder of Yoga Love, shared her experiences and explained how the practice can benefit women at different stages of life.Trivedi said she continued practising yoga regularly during her pregnancy, which helped her manage both physical and mental challenges. She also emphasised that yoga is important for everyone, irrespective of gender, as it can help prevent several health problems. For women, it can also support the management of conditions such as PMOS.HOW CAN YOGA HELP WITH PCOS AND FERTILITY?PMOS involves hormonal imbalances that can cause irregular periods and problems with ovulation. Prolonged mental stress can further affect physical and reproductive health. Practising yoga can help in several ways. It can reduce stress, improve sleep and support insulin sensitivity and metabolic health, which are particularly important for women with PMOS.Since PMOS can also contribute to fertility problems, managing the condition through healthy lifestyle habits may support reproductive health. However, yoga is not a cure for PMOS or a guaranteed solution to infertility. Women experiencing fertility concerns should seek medical advice and treatment when required.WHY IS YOGA BENEFICIAL DURING PREGNANCY? Many women hesitate to exercise during pregnancy because they fear it could harm the baby. However, gentle yoga can be practised during an uncomplicated pregnancy, provided it is approved by a doctor. It can help reduce mental stress, fatigue and anxiety, while also improving sleep and flexibility.Regular, appropriate physical activity and relaxation practices can therefore support women's physical and mental wellbeing during pregnancy.Watch the HealthWealth Summit LIVE here: - Ends
