Yemeni government says 1,400 Houthis killed in 2,750 strikes

Live Blog Update| War on Iran 10 October 2026 02:03 BST Yemen's government has said more than 1,400 Houthi fighers were "neutralised" in more than 2,750 precision strikes its forces carried out during military operations over the past 24 hours. Colonel Majid al-Nuzaili, the spokesperson for the armed forces, said the operations targeted high-value military assets deep within Houthi-held territory, according to a statement carried by Saba news agency. The Yemeni government announced on Sunday the start of the operation “Dawn of Yemen” to retake Yemeni territory held by the Houthis. Yemeni men assess the damage as emergency personnel extinguish a fire at the site of a reported overnight Saudi airstrike on a foam factory in Sanaa's Al-Rawda neighbourhood, on 9 October 2026.
