Yash's Toxic gets 'A' certificate from censor board; plot details revealed

Actor Yash's action thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification ahead of its theatrical release. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has now been cleared for theatrical release.According to a Bollywood Hungama report citing the official censor certificate, the film Toxic features a certified runtime of 194 minutes and 12 seconds — making the action thriller a sprawling 3-hour, 14-minute, and 12-second affair.Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was certified by the Bengaluru regional office on August 13, 2026. The certificate lists the film's language as Kannada and its certified length as 194.12 metres.The film's official plot summary reads: "A gangster navigates the complexities of loyalty, morality, and the struggle for personal redemption in a post-independence Goa where violence and jealousy reign. With its atmospheric world, brutal action sequences, and morally conflicted characters, the film explores the price one must pay for love and for finding redemption amidst the darkness." Produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic has been written and shot in Kannada and English. The film will also have dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The cast includes Yash, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.The trailer of the film depicts a toxic father-son relationship between Yash and his son. Amid the blazing guns and violence, we see a glimpse into the complex relationship between Yash, Kiara and Tara's characters. Yash plays dual role of father and son as Raya and Rumi aka Ticket.Amid disturbing glimpses of misogyny, heartbreak, rage and greed, the trailer of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups a hint about the possible clash between the father and son's ideologies.
