There has been plenty of backlash and speculation around this event, with fans urging the wrestling giant’s parent company TKO, to look at moving the event in light of recent attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East. While the venue did change from a purpose-built temporary outdoor venue, the Riyadh Season Stadium, to the indoor ANB Arena due to security concerns, the show is still going ahead in Saudi Arabia. As has become customary at these shows, the two champions from both Raw and SmackDown will go head-to-head, while this weekend’s card also features a rare tag team titles match on a premium live event. Fans will also get to see a bitter bout as two long-time rivals battle it out in a Last Man Standing match. Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s show. WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia has been going since 2018, and is set to run until 2028. It’s all been building to next April, when WrestleMania is set to take place outside North America for the first time, and unfortunately for Brits, we haven’t had a look in yet. There has been a lot of controversy around the deal for years, but that backlash has been even fiercer heading into this weekend, given safety concerns and recent attacks in Riyadh. In an earnings call, TKO president Mark Shapiro insisted that while WrestleMania is expected to go ahead as planned for 2027, they have a ‘contingency’. ‘It’s a long list of cities, primarily in the US, that we would move a WrestleMania to,’ he said.
