(Photos: Instagram/Vir Das)Instagram DMs are usually reserved for compliments, questions, memes and the occasional unsolicited opinion. But for one woman, comedian Vir Das’ inbox appears to have found a much more practical purpose; a personal to-do list.Das recently shared a screenshot of an unusual Instagram conversation in which a woman had been sending him reminders of everything she needed to get done. And judging by the list, she had decided that opening the Notes app was simply too much work. The exchange appears to have started innocently enough, with messages such as “quinoa” and “mango mirchi”. But things escalated quickly. The woman later sent Das a long list covering everything from beauty appointments and groceries to household chores and errands.Among the reminders were “Email to Sinead, Order gift for Neha, B Wax, threading, Nail paint, Jhadu, Surf top load, Jeera, Meethi dana, Ajwain and Scooty mein petrol”. And the list only got more specific from there. There was “Cat food, Choti wali sui, Nada dalne wali dandi, Glue, Fold laundry and, perhaps most importantly, “Find TV remote”. At this point, Das’ inbox was less of a social media chat and more of a digital command centre for one woman’s daily life.Sharing the screenshot on Instagram, Das appeared to be equally entertained by the situation. Writing over the post, he said, “This lady DMs me everyday using me as her to-do list. I hope you found the naade wala danda madam.”He continued the joke in the caption, writing, “Get it done madam. Get it done.”See the post:The bizarrely wholesome DM exchange quickly caught the attention of Instagram users.Much of the amusement came from the sheer variety of items on the list. One minute it was quinoa, the next it was threading, followed by cat food, petrol and a highly specific household tool for putting a drawstring through something. For Das, the inbox may have become an accidental productivity app. For the woman, it seems to have worked just fine. All that remains is one important question: did she ever find the TV remote?- EndsPublished By: Srimoyee ChowdhuryPublished On: Aug 25, 2026 17:15 IST
