It's been a while since Google started rolling out Android 17 to its Pixel devices, but it's only now that phones from other Android manufacturers are starting to get a taste of the latest Android version. Samsung is already in the middle of rolling out One UI 9 to eligible Galaxy phones. And now, Oppo and OnePlus have announced the rollout of ColorOS 17, their own take on the latest Android version, for supported devices. If you've been wondering when your Oppo or OnePlus phone will get Android 17, both companies have shared their official ColorOS 17 rollout schedules. Here's when you can expect the update on your device. Oppo: ColorOS 17 rollout schedule When Oppo phones will get ColorOS 17 Oppo may not officially sell its smartphones in the US, but the company's flagship phones have consistently held their own against some of the best Android phones available here, especially when it comes to cameras. Oppo has also kept its software experience consistent, though it hasn't shied away from borrowing design elements from other ecosystems. The recent Liquid Glass-inspired UI changes are one example, and while not everyone might appreciate that direction, it seems to be working for Oppo's customer base. The company has now officially announced its Android 17-based ColorOS 17 rollout schedule. Oppo says the new software will debut with the upcoming Find X10 series later this month, then roll out to older eligible devices. Here's the full ColorOS 17 rollout schedule for Oppo smartphones. Rollout timeline Eligible Oppo devices October 29, 2026 Find N6, Find X9 series October 30, 2026 Find N5; Find X8 series; Reno16 series November 2026 Find N3 and N3 Flip; Reno14 and Reno15 series (including special editions); K14, K14x, K13x; F29, F31, F33 December 2026 Reno13 series; K13 and K13 Turbo series; Pad 3 and Pad 5 series Q1 2027 Find N2 Flip; Reno12 series; F29 Pro, F31 Pro and Pro+, F33 Pro; Pad SE series OnePlus: ColorOS 17 rollout schedule The OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 lead the rollout, with more devices following in November OnePlus may no longer officially sell its smartphones in the US, but there are plenty of OnePlus devices in users' hands that will receive the Android 17 update. According to the company's rollout schedule, the OnePlus 15, one of its last flagship phones sold in the US, will receive ColorOS 17 on October 29, 2026, alongside the OnePlus Pad 4. The following day, October 30, the update will start rolling out to the OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13s. In November, ColorOS 17 will reach more devices, including the OnePlus Open, the company's only book-style foldable, alongside several older flagship models. Here's the full ColorOS 17 rollout schedule for eligible OnePlus devices: Rollout timeline Eligible OnePlus devices October 29, 2026 OnePlus 15; Pad 4 October 30, 2026 OnePlus 15R; OnePlus 13 and 13s November 2026 OnePlus Open; OnePlus 13R, 12; Nord 6 and CE6; Pad 3 December 2026 OnePlus 12R (including Genshin Impact Edition), 11; Nord 5, CE6 Lite, CE5; Pad 2 and Pad Go 2 Q1 2027 Nord 4; OnePlus N6 series (N6, N6x, N6 Lite); Pad Lite ColorOS 17 is polished, but very glassy The update brings a glassier interface, smoother animations, and more AI features So, what's new in ColorOS 17? Looks-wise, the software isn't dramatically different from the previous version of ColorOS or OxygenOS. Oppo still follows the Liquid Glass-inspired design language, and this time it's doubling down on it. Oppo introduced what it calls Living Flow Design, which the company claims is more resource-efficient while still retaining fluid animations and responsive feedback throughout the interface. I've used ColorOS 17 on my phone for the past couple of weeks, and it's more bouncy and more glassy than before. I prefer the cleaner look of Pixel UI over Apple's Liquid Glass design, so it's a bit much for my taste. Still, Oppo implemented the animations and transitions smoothly. Also, ColorOS 17 is easily among the most polished and optimized Android skins I've used in the past few months, right up there with Samsung's One UI 9. Oppo also claims its new rendering engine reduces rendering loads by up to 30% while lowering RAM usage by up to 25%. That's useful in 2026, especially as AI apps and features demand more memory than ever. In terms of visible changes, you'll notice more Liquid Glass-inspired elements throughout the interface, whether that's the buttons in the Phone app or the quick actions that appear when you long-press an app icon on the home screen. There are plenty of AI improvements, too. With ColorOS 17, Oppo is integrating AI more deeply into the operating system, letting it perform tasks across apps and files rather than just responding to prompts. For example, the new Agent Mode can work with photos and files stored on your device, search across multiple sources, and use the appropriate tools to complete a request. You could ask it to find scattered files, organize them, and rename them based on their content and dates without doing everything manually. There's also a new AI Photo Agent that makes photo editing much easier. In addition to conversational editing, where you can describe the changes you want, Oppo says the feature is designed to make edits more intuitive while preserving the photo's natural look and original character. There's one Android 17 feature I really miss ColorOS has had its own version of floating apps, called Floating Windows, for quite a while now. You can open apps in floating windows, resize them, and minimize them to the side of the screen for quick access. But one thing I miss on ColorOS 17 is Google's native App Bubbles implementation. Unlike Pixel UI, ColorOS 17 doesn't let you launch any app as a bubble from the home screen. While Floating Windows offers similar functionality, I can't help but miss Google's (arguably better) implementation here.
