Across the two Nintendo Direct presentations this week, the standout titles were undoubtely The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake and Metroid Ravenous. While the former was already announced, the presentation showed gameplay for the first time. A trademark leaked the existence of Metroid Ravenous prior to the Direct, but it was easily one of the best trailers, showing a more aggressive and talkative version of protagonist Samus Aran. As key Nintendo franchises, both games were announced with a bunch of tie-in extras, including a Zelda-themed Switch 2 console and Pro Controller. Meanwhile, like its predecessor Metroid Dread, Metroid Ravenous is set to receive fresh amiibo and a Special Edition. The digital and physical versions of both games cost £49.99 and £58.99, respectively, from the Nintendo Store. However, you can buy cheaper physical copies at retailers like ShopTo and Currys. Physical copies of the Zelda remake are currently sold out at the Nintendo Store, likely because they come with 3D replicas of the elemental spiritual stones as a bonus. Other editions which come with an Ocarina pin are also sold out. These are both exclusive to the Nintendo Store, and it’s unclear if they’ll come back in stock. Similarly, the Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 console, which launches October 29 ahead of the game on November 5, is also out of stock on the Nintendo Store. However, at the time of writing, retailers like Currys have some left going for £434, a whole pound cheaper than normal. It’s a similar deal with the Metroid Ravenous Special Edition, which comes with a copy of the game, a SteelBook, and a Samus (Metroid Suit) amiibo for £99.99. This is similarly sold out on the Nintendo Store, but stock is popping up at other retailers. On the amiibo front, two Zelda amiibo are set to launch sometime in 2027 (with pre-orders yet to go live in the UK). Metroid Ravenous is also getting two separate amiibo beyond the Special Edition, namely of Samus and a Chozo Statue, which launch alongside the game on January 28, 2027.
