Coronation Street is being shown at 8.30pm on ITV1 every night from Monday, September 21, to Friday, September 25. There are no midweek football matches taking centre stage this week, so fans can settle back into the Soap Power Hour introduced by ITV at the beginning of 2026. Under the new schedule, Emmerdale airs for 30 minutes at 8pm every weekday, immediately followed by a half-hour episode of Coronation Street at 8.30pm. This replaced Corrie’s previous pattern of three hour-long episodes a week, airing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm. But the timetable has repeatedly been interrupted this year by live sport, including the World Cup and Carabao Cup. When the “Power Hour” changes were announced, ITV’s managing director of media and entertainment Kevin Lygo said the move was “viewer-led”. He explained: “We already give more choice than ever to viewers on how they watch us through ITVX and we want to present their favourite soap to them in the most digestible way.” Kevin added: “Research insights also show us that soap viewers are increasingly looking to the soaps for their pacey storytelling. When will Coronation Street be disrupted next? The run of normality will not last long, with live football set to knock Coronation Street out of its usual slot next week. ITV will show England’s Uefa Nations League clash with the Czech Republic on Tuesday, September 29, with kick-off at 7.45pm in Prague. Coverage is scheduled on ITV1 from 7pm until 10.05pm, meaning both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will be missing from their usual Tuesday night slots. And more disruption is likely to follow just a week later, when England host the Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday, October 6. That match also kicks off at 7.45pm and will be shown live on ITV1, though the broadcaster has yet to confirm the soap schedule for that evening. Further ahead, ITV will also show Liverpool’s Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Chelsea on Wednesday, October 28, with the 8pm kick-off directly clashing with Corrie’s usual 8.30pm slot.
